The demand for pecans has been going up, and yet, they’re generally hard to find at the store. And when you do, they’re pricey. 

If you’ve never tried a fresh-from-the-farm pecan before, you’ll be blown away by the difference. They’re bigger, deliciously sweet, and plump. 

These pecans are the closest you can get to certified organic.* They’re also not fumigated, or pasteurized.

WHY EAT PECANS?

HOW TO EAT PECANS?

HOW LONG DO PECANS KEEP, AND HOW SHOULD I STORE THEM?

Proper storage of raw pecans helps maintain the delicious crunch and the health benefits. 

Store raw pecans in airtight containers and store them in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months. When exposed to warm temperatures for a while, raw pecans can go rancid. Storing in the refrigerator or freezer is best for long-term storage. Refrigerate them in tightly sealed bags or jars for up to 6 months. Or freeze them for up to 2 years.

To avoid removing the whole frozen batch from the freezer everytime you need pecans, store them in smaller usable amounts, which prevents the refreezing process.

WHEN SHOULD YOU EXPECT YOUR ALMONDS TO ARRIVE?

Pecans will ship directly from the farmer. They should ship out within 4-6 weeks after the order is placed. We will email you when your Group Buy items ship. 

WHY ARE PECANS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOME NUTS?

Pecans are considered a specialty crop. This means they require more intensive production, which makes them more valuable. 

For one thing, it’s difficult to harvest pecans, because they usually have to be harvested by hand. 

This also makes pecans less reliable, a reason why pecans aren’t always available. Additionally, pecans require immense patience, because it takes a pecan tree at least 10 years to produce. 

Basically, pecans take more work to produce, so they cost a bit more overall. But, their taste and specialness make them so worth it!
